The Azle Jazz Band is an ensemble that performs a wide variety of music, including swing, latin, funk, and more. Membership is granted through an audition process held in November. The Azle Jazz Band consists of one big band and several smaller jazz combos.
The focus of the Azle Jazz Band is to develop each student to their fullest potential and foster a love of music and an appreciation of America’s only true art form…jazz. Students will be provided opportunities to explore their interests in the jazz idiom while developing their musical performance skills to the highest level possible. It is the purpose of the Azle Jazz Band to provide an exceptional and enriching experience through extensive music study and performance.
The Azle Jazz Band competes at local jazz festivals, and has been invited to perform for the Texas State Board of Education in Austin, as well as opening the Azle Music in the Park festival most years.
